Valet Bike Parking
Valet Bike Parking (VBP) services encourage biking to large community events throughout the Mid-Michigan region. When people ride their bikes instead of driving their cars, they are helping to make happier, healthier event participants, fewer car parking headaches, and “greener,” more environmentally friendly community events.
Mid-MEAC and our partners host Valet Bicycle Parking at Festivals and Events throughout the year, primarily in the warm weather months. Our general schedule runs May – September, however, we’re always happy to work with community groups to provide bicycle parking at any event.
VBP was established at the Great Lakes Folk Festival in the year 2000.

Valet Bicycle Parking is offered FREE of charge to bicyclists. We do ask for DONATIONS (generally $1/bike) that we use to purchase gear for the program.
Hosting Valet Bicycle Parking at Your Event
You can make your festival or event even better and family-friendly by offering Valet Bicycle Parking. We even park strollers for you! There are some requirements, including a prominent area at the front of the festival/event, a flat surface (asphalt, concrete), snow fencing to secure the area, volunteers to work the bicycle parking area (we provide training) and a tent, table and chairs for the bicycle check-in staff. There’s a bit more detail that we can discuss. If you would like to host Valet Bicycle Parking at your Festival or Event in Clinton, Eaton or Ingham County, contact us using this form, or call Mid-MEAC at 517.292.3078.
